Hi again everyone, Well this week I am writing this to you all in the first week of the NEW NORMAL for us here in IBIZA,
We are now no longer under a National state of alarm and our airport / port is now open.
We are expecting to see an increase in daily international flights arriving each day in the coming weeks.
As mentioned last week very few hotels are open yet as they are waiting to see the reservation demands but quite a few are expected to open possibly from July or August.
The island is beautiful now, refreshed and healthy, after all these months of rest .
The sea is even bluer and sparkling clean the trees and mountains seem greener and the birds just sing constantly!
The beaches are yet to have sunbeds on them and the natural beauty of our unspoilt coves is something we haven’t seen for years here.
At the moment the virus as before is under control but the hospitals and medical workers are aware of the increase of travel the possibility of new outbreaks is expected.
We still have to wear masks when outside and if unable to keep to the 1.5mt social distancing.
We are expecting a very different summer here with the news that none of the big clubs will be opening this summer.
As residents we all know the other beautiful side of Ibiza.
Ibiza is not all Clubs and nightlife, It has so much more….. secluded coves with chilled beach bars and wonderful food, watersports, country retreats, the beauty of Formentera close by, but we understand the Clubs being closed will influence peoples decisions to visit us.
The West end area of San Antonio has also been hit by the new restrictions of now only being able to open their exterior terraces and not the interior of the bars.
For the time being, all bars/ restaurants must take last orders at 22.00pm ( 10 pm) and dance floors must be filled with low seating to not encourage dancing.
We are aware each month the government will update and act accordingly to the situation and all the new restrictions.
So Ibiza is starting off the Summer in a very chilled manner and once again only time will tell if and when the new restrictions will be able to be lifted/ edited.
It is down to us all, those living here and those that visit to be as prudent and responsible as we possibly can.
After over 50 days in complete lockdown in our homes here we are all determined to be just that so our island can be enjoyed by everyone again.
As always we continue to offer date changes at this uncertain time and we are here as always to help you all as much as we can .
Much love Candi and team x
